An inside look at culture and values at MEGAFAIR, interview with our CHRO Anastasiia Karmazina
Why do you think that now is the perfect time to join MEGAFAIR?
All startups are very different: in speed, in scope of their solutions, and the maturity of the team. MEGAFAIR is at an exciting turning point: we’ve successfully moved past the “ideas only” stage, but we’ve retained our agility and speed.
We have a clear roadmap, a strong team, and we really found our rhythm. At the same time, we are scaling rapidly: regarding our people, our partnerships, and the product itself. It’s that rare window where you aren’t starting from zero, but you’re still early enough to significantly influence the outcome and grow alongside the brand. In my opinion, it’s the ideal entry point, most comfortable.
At our previous All Hands meeting, we talked about exactly that — how much we’ve achieved in such a short period. We’ve grown so much that our core operational processes now need a bit of a recalibration to keep pace with that scale. I admire the fact that the whole team is on the same page about this, and I’m confident about where we’re headed.
What’s the main difference between working in big corporations and a startup like MEGAFAIR?
Primarily, it’s the level of flexibility and the sheer pace. We don’t have a heavy hierarchy and strict bureaucracy. Decisions happen quickly, and you have a direct impact on what actually happens.
While we have processes and they work well, we avoid over-engineering them. It isn’t chaos, rather it’s managed fluidity. There is always room to “reach out” and do more: take the lead, propose a solution, or shape a process. Our current stage of development offers much space indeed for everyone to grow and for people to step up and build their own teams.
You’ve mentioned people, so tell us what kind of people thrive best at MEGAFAIR?
Those who are ready to take ownership and focus on the result, not just a checklist of tasks. We look for people who are comfortable in a dynamic environment, who can make quick decisions, and who aren’t afraid to dive deeper than their job description suggests.
Internal energy is key. There’s a specific focus on outcomes here, you can really feel it. We value most the ability to take ownership, speak your mind directly, and honestly care about what we’re building together.
What are the real challenges someone might face at MEGAFAIR?
Even with our strong foundation, we are still a startup facing the difficulties of a very competitive market. My own struggle is to find the best-matching people and to keep them. New people are joining, processes evolve, and there isn’t always a ready-made clear answer, sometimes you have to invent it yourself. Even though every member of the team has a substantial workload, we still jump in to help wherever it’s needed. There are moments when anyone might step into a QA role just by asking exactly the right question.
Success isn’t always immediate, you often have to push through to the finish line on your own. This isn’t about comfort for comfort’s sake — it’s about movement and adaptation.
What do you personally enjoy most about working at MEGAFAIR?
What inspires me daily is the team and the collective mindset. There’s a real sense that we’re all pulling in the same direction and genuinely want to see results.
We’ve managed to keep a dynamic boutique atmosphere without any unnecessary formality. And then there’s the speed. We know how to adapt, decide, and keep moving faster. I feel in my element here, and hope my colleagues feel the same. Actually it’s my main focus to make everyone satisfied with our working conditions. Recently we’ve introduced the Team Pulse survey, and I’m happy with the results. Also I’ve got several insights about what to improve, it stimulates me to upgrade.
The MEGAVERSE is expanding, and we need more thinkers and doers to help us shape it. If you’re looking for a place where your voice is heard and your impact is visible and substantial, we’d love to meet you. Check out our open roles or just reach out! Let’s see if your pulse matches ours.
